SuePod

In the past few days, an interesting story from Illinois has arisen about everyone's favorite music/video player. When I was in school in the 80's and '90s, I never 'valuables' to school if I could help it (in saying this, there were times I carried my electronic bible with me). It appears that today's kids haven't learned this. This leads us to this story. In the story, one kid lent another her iPod. Somehow the device got lost. Now the parents are suing. Besides the fact this is another ride on the litigation train, I feel this suit sends two clear messages. The first is that you can blame others instead of taking responsibility. The is that the suit teaches the kids that civil law is something that shouldn't be used as a last resort when everything else has failed, but as a big ATM to get cash fast. It shouldn't be this way. In saying that, what can you do about it?

I hope this suit gets laughed out of court.
