I have A question...

...for the GOP as their convention starts this week.

Four years ago, the GOP got 398,726 votes in NYC. OTOH, the Democrats got 1,703,364 votes. Why are you having your convention in NYC?

Birthday

Last week was my birthday. I had an unexpected guest by the name of Charley. He was a nice guy, but showed his evil side in another place. After he left, my folks gave me a copy of Bill Clinton's My Life and some cash! For supper, I had chicken and pastry. For those who don't know what this dish is, it is sheet-like formations of pasta with chicken bits thrown in housed in chicken broth. Other people sent cards and sent wishes via the phone. On the day of my birthday, I slept in. Oh, the joys of that craft!

I loved all of it.

It Took Them Long Enough

Four years ago, a young woman named Katie Tarbox published a book called Katie.com about her experiences as a victim of abuse. There was a small problem with the title of the book, though. The domain name used as the title of the book was real! The owner of that domain, Katie Jones, was none too pleased with having to field email from all kinds of people who thought her to be the subject of the book. Since the books publication, Jones has tried to get the publisher of the book to change the title to something that does not reference her domain. This has been done.

I find this whole thing to be farce. Why couldn't the publisher and/or author do a WHOIS search to see who owned the domain?!? If I had been in charge of this project, I would have contacted Ms. Jones to license the name for the book and any other spin-off projects.

Sometimes what seems easy is hard.
