Upgrade Day; Antony's Odyssey

Today was upgrade day! Apple released updates to iTunes and Qucktime. iTunes is better, with links to iTMS besides the stats on each song. Looks like someone is thinking at Apple. The install was smooth and went without an hitch. I wish all software was like this. As I said before, Quicktime was updated as well. Since I don't use Qucktime, I can't give any details on changes.

PalmOne also updated Palm Desktop. They added support for the renamed PIM apps, (e.g. Address Book is now Contacts). The install went off without a hitch. However, I got a conflicted conduit error on the Mac and none on Windows. I recommend backing up your HotSync information.

From the interesting blog department...

Antony Shen's blog is really interesting to read. He recently got a new Mac, so his entries in that regard are very good reading.

Now i'm off to read the Good Book, pray, and sleep...

To Bigotry No Sanction

Recently, there has been a row over a website called Jew Watch being the first result on Google when searching for the word Jew. According to CNet News, the site has disappeared from Google's lisings! This is a very good thing! We must learn to love all people no matter their age, religion, ethnicity, political belief, and sexual orientation.

[Insert Deity Here], Let it begin with me.

Do you want to be fired?

It looks like a crop of people are gearing up to be on The Apprentice 2. You can vote on the candidates at http://www.apprenticewannabes.com. I really hope they know what in for.

Today I got a haircut. The salon was filled to the max. It took a while to get in the big chair, but having that excess hair off is worth it.

Then there was one...

The Apprentice wrapped up tonight. Kwame was done in tonight by Omarosa [Manigault-Stallworth] by her lies and general incompetence. I'm starting to think Omarosa would do a good job for VDOT. During the show, The Donald chided Kwame for not sacking Omarosa for her errors during a charity concert held by Jessica Simpson. Bill [Rancic] got rave reviews on his management of a charity golf game.

In the end Bill is the Apprentice. I wish him well as he gets to work building a Trunp property in Chicago.

Roll on Season 2!

An Interesting Choice

I made an interesting choice this morning on what to watch on TV. The choice was between Room Raiders and the average Sunday morning hypocrites. I chose Room Raiders.

I love different choices on TV!

Happy Easter everyone!

Just Say No! - It's the easy way out

Recently, a kid in Alabama was offered a free Bible by the Gideons.

In case you don't know, the Gideons are a men's group whose sole purpose in life is to give out Bibles to people from all walks of life. While this is good, they have gotten in trouble over the years for doing this pratice near and in schools.

With all this background in mind, I return to the case in Alabama.

On the day the Gideons arrived, they came carring a box of King James Bibles. One kid who recieved one was Catholic. (Catholics have never been fond of the King James Bible). When the kid brought the Bible home, mama was not happy due to the fact the Bible was not the Challoner revsion of the Douay-Rheims Bible. As we speak, mama is upset. As a result, the school in question will require signed permission statements for all future Bible giveaways by the Gideons.

This whole row was pointless. If mama wanted her kid to have a Catholic Bible, she could have brought one online. See, simple is it?

In the 80's, Nancy Reagan made Just Say No a mantra against drug use. I'm thinking it would have worked wonders here.

The Night of the Long Knives or Then There Were Two

The Apprentice was interesting yesterday.

The four remaining candidates were interviewed by Trump Organization officials. As a result of the interviews, Nick [Warnock] and Amy [Henry] were fired. The reasons given were various. Amy was seen as too goody-two-shoes with nothing behind her words. Nick was seen as too slick for his own good. Good riddence to them. It was about time they went.

As we speak, Kwame [Jackson] and Bill [Rancic] are left, with the last six people fired serving as employees. Things are getting interesting...

News About the Good News, Part 2

The British and Foreign Bible Society posted my Good News Bible story. It's the same, minus some UK and US English changes. Enjoy!

And then there were four...

Yesterday's Apprentice was very good. That's to be expected for a show that is down the proverbial wire. The teams were asked by The Donald to sell a loft in one of his buildings for the highest price. The Versacorp team ended up winning the challenge by earning 5,000 USD more than the Protege team. Trump's decsion on whom to fire was interesting. He, in my own mind, decided to sack (read: punish) Troy [McClain] because of his lack of a college degree and his erratic performance over the last few weeks.

You live and you learn, I guess.
